The Infinity Dad is a space where ideas and thoughts will be shared.
My name is Patrick. I am the husband to Wendy of Plugged In Family. While some things I share will be on Plugged In Family, I will be sharing my thoughts here as well.
One thing I will be sharing on this site is my journey to be The Infinity Dad. This includes my need to lose weight and be healthier. I have allowed my weight to become a barrier to reaching my full potential not only has a father, but also as a husband.
It is time to take the gloves off Suit Up and become The Infinity Dad.
What is The Infinity Dad?
The Infinity Dad is the idea that there are an Infinite number of ways one can function as a dad. Just as no two people on the earth are the same, no two dads are going to be the same. An important thing to understand, is that dads need to be flexible. Just as every dad is different, so is every child.
Dads need to adjust who they are to meet the needs of his children. This doesn’t apply just to dads it applies to any parent. There are basic needs of food and shelter that all children need and deserve to have.
Another one of these things is love. A dad needs to understand what his child needs in order to feel that he or she is loved and then adjust who he is to meet his child’s needs.
- If your child is into sports, get involved in the sports he or she likes, not necessarily what you like.
- If your child is into video games, then try playing video games. If you are not good, your child will be more than happy to teach you.
The point is, Whatever your child is into needs to be a priority in your life. It might be time for you to try something new.
Then there is the flip-side.
While there are an Infinite of ways to be dad, it is important to understand that are a very finite number of opportunities to be a dad. Children grow up quickly and are involved in so many different things. Don’t let the opportunities slip away.
